Violator

Violator is not quite as good as 101 - the album that I consider Depeche Mode's best work - but comes very close.

"Policy of Truth", "Personal Jesus", and, of course, "Enjoy the Silence" are probably the best known tracks on the album, but there are other excellent songs present as well. Most notable among these tracks are "Halo" and "Clean".

As usual, all of the songs on Violator were written by Martin Gore. Two tracks, "Sweetest Perfection" and "Blue Dress" were also sung by Gore; normally I give songs performed by Gore higher ratings, but these just aren't up the to caliber of "A Question of Lust" or "Everything Counts".

Overall, this is an awesome album and introduces a slightly different sound than prior songs had.
