Thanks go to Creative Services for sending me a copy of the New Age album Inhale Slowly from Tim White and Joe Paulino.

The title of the album is fitting as it is an extremely relaxing album. In fact, I was unable to listen to Inhale Slowly straight through in a single pass as I was finding it difficult to stay awake. The tracks are rather long with the shortest on being nearly nine minutes and the longest one just over seventeen minutes. However, the length works well for this format as it could be jarring to switch tracks often and break the meditative state. Likewise, the instrumentation between tracks does not change much which prevents listeners from being jolted out of their relaxed state; sitar and woodwind are the chief instruments with guitar, synthesizer, and piano added for variety.

While the lack of change in tempo, instrumentation, and sound does not make Inhale Slowly and ideal album to listen to as a stand alone work, that is not its intended purpose. The album would be a great accompaniment to yoga, massage therapy, a sleep aid, or unwinding after a hectic day. For these purposes, Inhale Slowly really shines.

I would recommend Inhale Slowly to anyone with a high-stress job as a relaxation aid as well as anyone who practices yoga to help clear their mind.
