Albums for Review 2010-02-11

I am trying to post these updates more regularly again (about once a month) and have succeeded this time!

You can find my current album wish list below. Recent purchases, as always, have a line through them. I try to listen to each album about a dozen times before writing a review, and have many unreviewed albums already in my collection, so it may be awhile before any of the new purchases appear on the site.

If you have any suggestions for other artists or albums, or an album suggestion for any of the artists where I am unsure of which album to buy, please let me know. I am always looking for new music to add to my collection.

If you’re looking to purchase the Toadies CD with the song ‘Possum Kingdom’ the album is called ‘RUBBERNECK’.

If you’re looking for an idea of which Blue ?yster Cult album to purchase I’d go with ‘Fire of Unknown Origin’. ‘Fire…’ does contains the hit ‘Burnin’ for You’ but unlike ‘Agents of Fortune’ which has the hit ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’ it is not surrounded by lots of filler songs. ‘Fire of Unknown Origin’ was supposed to be the soundtrack to the movie ‘Heavy Metal’. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_of_Unknown_Origin
If you enjoy ‘Fire of Unknown Origin’ then i’d work my way from the start. ‘Blue ?yster Cult’ (self titled), Tyranny And Mutation’ and ‘Secret Treaties’ are all classics.

Thanks for the suggestions. I try to avoid albums with lots of filler songs, so I will probably avoid “Agents of Fortune” in the near future and update my list next month with “Fire of Unknown Origin” instead of “Unsure”.
