A few weeks ago I suggested subscribing to Last.fm’s podcast of recommended free music. If you use iTunes, you can get even benefit from this service by downloading two no cost programs: Mp3tag and MixMeister BPM Analyzer.

On Wednesday, I listened to my MP3 player for the first time while at the gym and realized the choice of music can have a dramatic effect on one’s workout experience. Yesterday, I installed iTunes 8 and have mixed feelings towards it. There are a couple of changes to the interface, but other than that, I do not notice much of a difference between this version and the previous iteration.

Lately, I have been trying out LMMS (Linux MultiMedia Studio) and have been quite impressed. Don’t let the name scare you away, there is also a Windows version if you haven’t upgraded to Linux yet :).
