Amazon just released six new free sampler CD’s for download. Granted, one of these CD’s is comedy, but the others are all music.

Free mash-up albums

Recently while doing my monthly check through coworkers’ iTunes shares looking for music that I haven’t been exposed to yet, I stumbled across a fantastic series of mash-up albums. A+D has released a "Best of Bootie" album each year since 2005 containing the best tunes played at their mash-up parties during that year.

Getting more use from guitar tabs

Recently, I found a couple of items that may be useful to those who play – or would like to learn to play – guitar. The first is a program that extends the functionality of tabs that you download. While the second is a great online resource – not just for tabs, but also for lessons, reviews, and forums.

Musical tutorial site

Recently, while searching for a specific piece of sheet music, I stumbled across a site full of music tutorials and other resources. "Making Music Fun" is primarily aimed at elementary school children, but would be useful for anyone trying to learn to play an instrument, read sheet music, or learn other musical topics.
