Promotion from Roadrunner Records

I just bought Endgame from Megadeth and was pleasantly surprised to find a slip of paper advertising a promotion from Roadrunner Records inside. Before I continue, I want to mention that this album will be on next month’s music that I intend to review list and it may be reviewed quickly as I tend to overplay Megadeth albums.

That being said, back to the promotion. Apparently if you buy a new album from Roadrunner, you can sign up on their site to receive announcements for new albums coming out, promotions, etc. Yeah, I know, big deal you can subscribe on an individual band’s website as well for details related to them. However, Roadrunner will also give you a free MP3 album for signing up. They say this is only while supplies last, but I’m not sure how supplies can be limited if they are "digital" copies unless their is a licensing issue (a certain number of each track can be given away) or something similar.

In any case, I don’t think you need to worry about missing the promotion. But if you happen to buy an album from Roadrunner in the near future, you may want to sign up. The process is mildly annoying as they send two confirmation e-mails that you have to click on; it beats me why one is not enough, but I do not pretend to understand sales and marketing. This is only a minor annoyance though, and they don’t require your address, phone number, or credit card number. Once you finally complete this process, you will have the choice of two albums (the download link is way at the bottom of their page) and have to download their installer.

I chose Between a Rock and a Hard Place, if you download, or have downloaded Annual Assault, please let me know what you think of it.
