Status update from the “studio”
Since I mentioned a while ago that I was working on some new tracks, I wanted to keep post a status update to keep you all informed.
I am almost finished with a demo version of my third song. I have lyrics written for a fourth track. Also, I have the start of about four more tracks. So far, it appears that the songs are averaging around three minutes each, so I should have enough to release an EP after the ones that I have made progress on are complete.
I think I can tell you a little more without giving too much away. The track that I have almost finished is inspired by one of my favorite horror movies with kind of an EBM feel. The lyrics that I have written are an homage to many of the metal bands and songs that have influenced me over the years and – while I have not written any music to go along with these lyrics yet – I anticipate it to have a harsher, more industrial sound. Honestly, I do not know what to describe the new tracks that I am working on as. I may have to coin the term "geekBM" or "NerDustrial".
I hope to be finished enough by Friday to send the horror inspired track off to a couple of friends of mine for comments. I will keep you posted.
