iTunes presets

Recently, I have discovered that I can setup presets such as rock, dance, pop, etc. on a song by song basic with iTunes. This will adjust the frequency of a song automatically each time that it is played and is a great help for tracks ripped from old AAD (analog to analog to digital) CDs that sound washed out or tinny.

A good rule of thumb for most songs is to use the preset for the genre that iTunes claims a song belongs to where applicable. Some genres, such as Industrial, do not have a preset but dance normally works well; dance also works well for EBM, and not surprisingly Dance. Old Def Leppard tracks seem to play best with the acoustic setting for some reason. When in doubt, go through each one, wait a few seconds for it to kick in, and keep trying them until you find one that sounds good. Keep in mind that, especially with newer music or remastered CDs, you will not improve the sound of the music by using a preset.

If you have found a preset that works well for a group, album, or song please post them, I’d love to save time by going through them all myself.
