Christmas annoyance
First of all, I want to wish everyon a Merry Christmas or appropriate greeting for your winter-time holiday. However, the main point of this post is that I am getting really sick of Christmas music and am thankful that either tomorrow or 11 more days from now it will all go away. I am, of course, talking about the endless loop of Yuletide cheer coming from my radio.
I am unsure as to why, but it seems that 3 or 4 stations in every market in the U.S. have to switch to playing Christmas music non-stop from the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas day or Epiphany. It’s okay for the first few days, but after a month of hearing "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" every hour, I am getting kind of sick of it; really, there’s only so many times that I can hear "Winter Wonderland" without losing my mind.
It wouldn’t be as bad if the stations either only played Christmas music for the last week of Advent or during a couple hour block each day for the entire season. But, for the love of all that’s good if you insist on playing Christmas music non-stop, at least find some more obscure things and mix it up a bit.
On a related note, The Screaming Me-Me has a few culinary complaints for this festive season.
We have the same Christmas radio programming in Phoenix too * fa-la-la-la-la-pa-rum-pa-pa-pum *.
At least it will be over soon. 🙂
