For your listening enjoyment, I have rated the top ten best movie theme songs of all time – or at least of the sub-set of movies that I have seen. For the purpose of the list a theme song is defined as an opening or closing song directly related to the plot of the movie, or a recurring song that runs throughout a movie or series of movies. To qualify for the list a song must either capture the atmosphere of the movie, provide a quick, but full, synopsis or preferably both. Obviously in the case of instrumentals, giving a synopsis is impossible.<\/p>\n
