Thanks go to Independent Music Promotions for sending me the unique Alternative EP We Are Here by German group Rooftop Runners.

Musically, We Are Here is gloomy with hints of Joy Division - espcially on "Energize". And, while the music is repetitive, it is not monotonous or boring and does not feel overly long. The vocals have a Stone Roses meets The Rolling Stones feel to them. Needless to say, the EP is rather dark.

The lyics, as with the music and vocals, are, for the most part, dark with lines such as "bang bang goes your head" from quot;Bang Bang" and "crippled in my youth and I'm trying to breath" from "Energize".

We Are Here is well put-together with lots of thought put into the music. Fans of The Rolling Stones Darker tracks should definitely give this a listen. As well, anyone who likes Joy Division should be able to pick out their influence and should enjoy the EP.
