Post Death Soundtrack's Music as Weaponry works well as a cohesive whole and is very unique in its sound.

Much of the instrumentation on the tracks is either typically unused in Industrial music, or never used at all, giving the album a refreshingly original sound. For instance, "Serenade" employs an acoustic or acoustic sounding guitar to great effect. "Life Gone Solitary", makes use of record hiss to set the atmosphere. The vocal effects are also well implemented setting the tone of the songs while still being clearly understandable.

Much of Music as Weaponry is rather sedate - at least compared to the majority of this genre. Of course, there are exceptions such as "Hegemonic Bastards Network (Hbn)" and "Euchreist". This relative slowness also adds to the uniqueness of the album.

These differences from the typical notion of what Industrial is should not be construed as a statement that fans of more usual works will not like this album. For instance, fans of Skinny Puppy should feel right at home with "Euchreist" and "Simulation and Simulacra". Nine Inch Nails lovers will probably enjoy "The Preemptive Art (Striking First & Hardest)". Those who like Front 242 or KMFDM should will likely enjoy "Decentralize" but for different reasons.

As a well-rounded album, Music as Weaponry should appeal to many fans of Nine Inch Nails and Skinny Puppy as well as some followers of Front 242 and KMFDM. Overall this is a very strong album with most tracks ranking well above average.
