March of the Pigs (UK)

March of the Pigs (UK) - or Halo 7 - contains a couple of tracks that March of the Pigs (US) does not, and the tracks that overlap are in a different sequence.

"March of the Pigs" features good drums and is, for the most part, a decent song. However, it is not worth purchasing the single to get this track as it is the version on The Downward Spiral. "March of the Pigs (clean version)" is exactly what it the name implies; I never really cared for radio edits of songs as the portions where the vocals drop out sound unnatural and are distracting. "All the Pigs, All Lined Up" is about three times longer than "March of the Pigs", the music is significantly different and has many effects and distortions added including pigs grunting; parts of this version almost make it sound like it belongs on Fixed with its watery sounds. Because of the numerous effects, the vocals sometimes feel drowned out and can be difficult to hear when compared with the standard version.

"Reptilian" has a different introduction that the album version, feels less slow in the beginning, and has less pneumatic sounds than the original. Also, it happens to be about two minutes longer than the album version due to a couple of new sections being added; the vocals are exactly the same as the original, and the overall feel is pretty much the same as the album version. The added time can make the remix feel overly long though. "Underneath the Skin" is an extremely long, mostly instrumental version of "Reptile" This is not bad song per se, but the length and lack of vocal can make it feel repetitive.

"A Violet Fluid" - misprinted as "A Violent Fluid" - is a rather short instrumental and feels as though it could easily fit between "The Becoming" and "I Do Not Want This". "Big Man With a Gun" is identical to the album version in every respect.

If you are trying to decide between this version of the single and the US version, it is basically a choice between having two more tracks, or saving a couple of bucks by only purchasing one CD. Given a choice between the two, I would suggest buying March of the Pigs (US) as of the two tracks added to the UK version one is on The Downward Spiral and the other is merely a censored version of the album track.
